Completely revised and substantially expanded, the new edition of this dictionary has also been largely rewritten with the assistance of a team of specialists from all the appropriate fields. The book provides clear and concise definitions of relevant terms in speech pathology, linguistics, phonetics and phonology, psychology and psychiatry, medicine, hearing, electronic devices and microcomputers. It also describes different types of therapy techniques, the use of particular tests to assist in making diagnoses, and the current theories in these fields. Though designed with students particularly in mind, the dictionary should also be of value to clinicians and practitioners seeking a guide to the terminology which has come into use since they qualified.
