This research project looks at the dangers of employing new equipment that has not been fully tested. The instrument for study was the German Army’s employment of the Panther tank at the Battle of Kursk in 1943. This subject was chosen today because the U. S. Army has the potential of using unproven technology in armed conflict. This potential exists because the Army is trying to leverage technology against its force structure. With all branches of the armed services facing budget cut battles today, andexpecting budget cuts to continue for the foreseeable future, the U.S. Army as well as the other services, can expect smaller budgets to reduce force structure. The Army will use technology as leverage to make up for this loss in force structure.Enhanced with text analytics by PageKicker Robot Fast Heinz.
