Crowley will be remembered as a developer of Devil worship. He gave rock music its ritual opera and reinforced the practice of back masking, where music is played backwards. This manipulation offers subliminal cryptic messages with the potency of a master hypnotist practicing the power of suggestion. Sound engineers reverse a vocal track then mix in a message.
