Las Vegas Rock Road Trip Adventures, Volume Five; The serial killer used black masking in Las Vegas to send officers a message. The killer dropped off a rare Aleister Crowley book off at a library recycle bin with his message. Aleister Crowley simply professed to go on Satan’s side. He acknowledge the Devil and promised to lead people to Lucifer. Billed by the media as the Wickedest Man on Earth, Crowley’s pledge to the Devil was taken seriously by a number of rock stars – David Bowie, members of the Led Zeppelin band, even John Lennon of the Beatles – All these followers are have said to follow him publicly. Mr. Ozzy wrote a song about him, Jim Morrison meditated around a miniature bust of the man, and to help motivate his music, Jimmy Page purchased Crowley’s estate on the shores of Lake Loch Ness in Scotland. Lake Loch Ness is infamous for conjuring up imaginary monsters. Employees on the lake estate reportedly suffered insanity and one record shows a caretaker committing suicide. Crowley will be remembered as a developer of Devil worship. He gave rock music its ritual opera and reinforced the practice of back masking, where music is played backwards. This manipulation offers subliminal cryptic messages with the potency of a master hypnotist practicing the power of suggestion. Sound engineers reverse a vocal track then mix in a message. Not unlike sorcery, Fred Mercury’s music might suggest a listener, “Smoke marijuana” and the anthem becomes spiritual, captivating a creative mind. Kids spends hours a day trying to decode the messages. Prayers are said backwards, notes written between teens come out backwards, and films are re-recorded in reverse. In some cities, black masking is admired as an art form.
