Kenny Marimee longs to find his place in this world. He would also like to have one normal date before he dies. BOY MEETS GIRL chronicles the adventures of Kenny and his offbeat friends, and their quirky, awkward relationships with females from pre-kindergarten through high school. The story is told by Kenny himself as he looks back on the hilarious, goofy, and bewildering times he shared with his friends and with girls, from the perspective of an eighteen year-old about to go away to college in 1981. Joining Kenny on his quest is Bobby Driscoll, the well-meaning, but unlucky best friend of Kenny. There's Johnny Corcoran, the strong, intelligent boy whose Irish-Catholic guilt won't allow him much fun. There's Tony Morretoni, the public school "bad boy" who stirs up trouble. And there's Eddie, the cheapest kid ever to hit the dating scene. In a prairie behind Kenny's house, the boys build a clubhouse out of old railroad ties. It is there that they spend their days forging friendships, solving the world's problems, and planning the perfect date. First novel from award-winning playwright Robert Lynn (The ReGifters; The Stupid Economy).

Robert Lynn is a writer and actor from the Chicago area, now living in Iowa. As a writer for the stage: Robert Lynn's full-length Christmas-themed comedy, The ReGifters, is the winner of the New American Comedy Festival and is published by Heuer Publishing as is With Friends Like These. The Stupid Economy, a one-woman show is currently on tour. It will be produced at United Solo Artists Festival on Theatre Row in NYC in October 2013. His ten-minute play, Palindrome Love was a winner in the Short & Sweet Sydney 10-minute play festival, was performed in Sydney Australia in February 2009, and was performed in the Washington DC Capital Fringe Festival in the summer of 2010. He is a member of the Dramatists' Guild of America, Inc. As an actor: Acting is in Robert's blood, along with a whole lot of alcohol. During a performance of Godspell in 1998, Robert literally followed the pre-show advice of the backstage crew to "break a leg" when he fell into the orchestra pit drunk, and broke the leg of the viola player. The subsequent lawsuit cost him thousands of dollars and had him as the viola player's butler for a time, but Robert remains upbeat about the sobering experience. "It was really a wake-up call for me," said Robert. "Now I do all my drinking upstage, and don't go anywhere near the orchestra pit...unless I need someplace to throw-up." Reviled by theater orchestras everywhere, Robert was voted "Most Likely to be Found Impaled on an Oboe" in 1999. Robert’s most recent film project, “Code of Ignorance,” has him playing a simple-minded beekeeper whose only amusement comes from calling his wife “Honey.” Says Robert, “It’s fun working with all those bees. It’s like having a million tiny supporting actors.” Robert recently completed filming for his latest movie, in which he plays a spice consultant for inept housewives in “A Man for All Seasonings.” Robert literally “brought the house down” in a performance in Maine in 1990, when he accidentally set the theater on fire. “How was I to know I shouldn’t put my lit cigar in a pile of oily rags in the heating oil storage room?” said Robert. Robert was arrested in Montreal in 1989 for doing the nude scene in “Hair.” It just so happened that the rest of the cast was doing “The Diary of Anne Frank.” Last summer, Robert played a well-meaning, but tragically misguided hardware store employee who befriends a little blind girl in “Power Tools for Paula.”
