About the Author:

Kenneth Grahame was born in 1859. From the age of five, he lived with his grandmother in Cookham Dean, Berkshire, where he spent a lot of time on the banks of the River Thames. It was here that he wrote THE RELUCTANT DRAGON, which was first published in DREAM DAYS in 1898, ten years before the publication of his most famous work, THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS.
Lewis Carroll, a.k.a. Charles Dodgson (1832-1898), is the author of the classic children's stories Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Dodgson served as a clergyman and mathematician at Christ Church College, his alma mater in Oxford, England, for almost fifty years.

Anna Sewell (1820-78) was born in Norfolk, England. Disabled through illness, she grew to rely on a horse and carriage for mobility. Black Beauty was inspired by her experiences, and remains one of the world's favorite animal stories.

SIMON VANCE is a prolific and popular audiobook narrator and actor with several hundred audiobooks to his credit. An Audie® Award-winner, Vance was recently named "The Voice of Choice" by Booklist magazine.

Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888) won international renown with the publishing of Little Women and its sequel, Good Wives. Her works include An Old Fashioned Girl, Eight Cousins and Jack and Jill. Alcott grew up in Concord, Massachusetts, where her family befriended such literary greats as Henry David Thoreau and Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Frances Hodgson Burnett (1849-1924), author of The Secret Garden, also in an Aladdin Classics edition, and Little Lord Fauntleroy, enjoyed wider popularity in her own time with both adult and child readers than many other writers.

Michael Page has been recording audiobooks since 1984 and has over two hundred audiobooks to his credit. He has won several AudioFile Earphones Awards, including for The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. A professional actor, Michael is currently a professor of theater at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
