This is Kes gray's first picture book for Hodder, following his success with Eat Your Peas, winner of the Children's Book Award 2001, and Sarah Nayler's first ever picture book.

This book follows the development of a baby told through the eyes of a child. Each month, the pages in the book get bigger, reflecting increase of time and size, until at the end the pages are full size, as is the baby, ready to be born.

Sarah Nayler's wonderfully quirky illustrations bring out all the humour in Kes' text. She is an up and coming illustrator with an already established reputation.

Kes Gray won the Children's Book Award 2001 for Eat your Peas with Nick Sharratt. He has also been voted by the Independent as one of the Top Ten children's authors.
