Explosions in the centre of London...Swathes of decent English folk vanishing from trains and buses and never seen again ...And a clue: a lone string of garlic ...Surely this can only mean the centuries-old hush-hush war with France is spiralling towards a dramatic, catastrophic conclusion that could mean the annihilation of England itself! The country's only hope lies with grossly overweight Tube engineer Bill Budgen, whose life takes a bizarre and unwelcome turn when he stumbles upon an absurdly 'British' cabal living beneath the streets of London. Bulldozed into a mission he cannot quite grasp Bill must lead the group in their noble quest to obliterate all things French, along the way seducing Liz Hurley, learning the truth behind the dreaded Eurovision Song Contest, outcharming Tom Cruise, and thoroughly exploiting the group's free bar policy - but no assignment, however perilous, can overshadow that all-important search for the perfect cup of tea...

From the Publisher:

A hilarious, strange and, well... unique tale of old-fashioned terrorism with a stiff upper-lip.

About the Author:

Justin Lynham was born in Dublin sometime in the mid-seventies. His parents, true flower-children of the time, eschewed his birth certificate in the hope that he would flourish, unburdened by the concept of 'birth'. By the age of eleven he was a regular performer on Dublin's Grafton Street, earning a considerable wage with his one-man T-Rex covers band, but before his fifteen birthday he turned his back on music forever. Leaving home for a life of adventure, he left his mark on dozens of countries across the world in the form of giant, picturesque murals in public spaces - an act which led to his arrest in Red Square for what was considered 'incitement' at the time. Now living in London, the author has found a sense of peace in night-fishing at various points along the river Thames. Putting both music and painting behind him, he has now turned to writing as a creative outlet. It is not known for how long he intends to remain in London or remain a writer. He is also a famously bad liar. Undergrounder is his first novel.
