Ich glaube dem Wunsche vieler, welche dem Studium dieses gewaltigsten Werkes der Scholastik sich widmen, entgegenzukommen, wenn ich vorliegende Einführung veröffentliche. Dieselbe will in literarhistorischer Hin sicht die Entstehung der theologischen Summa, ihre zeitliche und sachliche Stellung im gesamten thomistischen Schrifttum und ihre geschichtliche Nachwirkung bis zur Gegenwart zeichnen. Sodann will diese meine Einführung.
