We have several books dealing with the history of chemistry; there are a number of biographies of pioneer chemists; but, so far as I am aware - and this includes books in French and German as well as in English the chemists of our time have been ignored completely. The Dickenses and Thackerays of chemistry have received attention - not any too much, to be sure l but the modems, the Anatole Frances and Wells, have received none.
