Steve Buckley is an author and freelance writer who loves to read and write about maritime history, largely focusing on the Age of Discovery and the Golden Age of Piracy. He created the Blackbear the Pirate Adventure Series to help stir children's imaginations and to instill a sense of wonder and excitement in the minds of young readers: his stories help find the inner pirate in us all! Steve resides in Maryland.
Ruth Palmer is an experienced and extremely versatile illustrator. She studied Art and Illustration at Harrow College of Art, Middlesex, England. For the past twenty years she has been illustrating many children's books both educational and fictional in the UK and the USA. She lives in beautiful Devon, England.
