About the Author
HUGH BROOKS has been a consulting structural engineer for over forty years and is a licensed civil and structural engineer in California. He has authored four engineering and construction releated books. He resides in Newport Beach, California. JOHN P. NIELSEN, PhD, is a licensed civil and geotechnical engineer in California. His career includes both university instructor and over twenty years in private practice as a geotehnical consultant. He practices and resides in Palm Desert, California.
