This teacher resource book defines a curious learner as a child who: (1) knows how to ask questions; (2) is not afraid to try; and (3) is excited about learning! This description fits the goals of many homeschoolers. The authors begin by helping us think through how we view our children (one element of a worldview). They take the position that children are born with a natural curiosity that we don't want to "school" out of them. Instead we want to encourage it through a variety of activities and approaches. The remainder of the book is devoted to ways of doing just that by subject area for preschool to age ten. Subjects include science, history, using the library, poetry, music/dance/arts, and learning and fun. Each subject chapter contains activities to help your children find ways to apply what they know and discover their personal interests and abilities. There is also a list of books for further information and books for you to share with your children. The lists are divided into age categories: 4-6, 6-8, 8-10.
