LAST UPDATED SPRING 2015 A 16 page, A5 sized booklet (soft backed) which contains two unique heritage walks around Southwell, with an optional treasure hunt. Also included is a map of Southwell with the routes marked on it, and 5 stories or interesting facts about some of the things you see along the routes. The first walk, from England's best preserved Workhouse to Southwell Minster is 1.5 miles long, and the second walk which starts at the iconic Minster and ends at a former medieval der park is 1 mile long. The Treasure Hunt is there to add some fun, and make sure you look at everything around you - but if you're naturally inquisitive (we would say curious...), and like having fun, these walks will still be hugely absorbing without the Treasure Hunt aspect. Just follow the directions, and keep to the map! Most children find them great entertainment. Younger children (primary school age) should always be accompanied by an adult, who is prepared to get actively involved - you can give them a particular role, eg matching pictures to clues, finding answers, or helping with directions, etc.
