Back cover text. Dave Butcher is known worldwide for his black and white fine art landscape photography. His first three books and vast collection of prints are testament to this. However, he has also spent as much time photographing urban landscapes around the world. City Light is a collection of photographs taken between 1990 and 2012 in some of the world's most famous cities (and Buxton). Stunning night shots and dramatic architectural imagery give a new view on well known places and buildings as well as plenty you may have never noticed. Dave also shares some of his secrets on planning, composing and capturing cityscapes as well as inspirational tips on working in the dark to get perfect night-time images. About Dave Butcher. Dave Butcher has been making photographic images since the early 1970's. A chemist by profession, Dave worked for Ilford Imaging for 21 years until 2002, becoming a full-time photographer in 2005. He gained his Associateship of the Royal Photographic Society in 1987 and has been selling framed prints of his hill and mountain landscapes for more than 20 years. Still using film cameras, his handmade original traditional black and white silver prints are included in many private collections worldwide and are displayed in many homes and businesses. Dave Butcher images are extensively licensed around the world in calendars, posters, greetings cards and for book illustrations. Dave also shares his expertise by giving lectures to schools, colleges and camera clubs and runs his own photography and darkroom courses. This is Dave's fourth book, following the highly successful High Light (2005), Peak Light (2007) and Lake Light (2010). For more information visit www.davebutcher.co.uk. Note: 2 new books of landscape photographs were published in 2015 - Land Light and Snow Light.
