This book details the moths recorded by the author on the estate in Dorset where he has been lucky enough to have lived for 25 years.
It illustrates over 500 species with photographs of live moths on 50 colour plates, and includes some moths from other parts of the country not yet seen on the estate.
With stunning pictures of living moths ranging from common to extremely scarce, and including brief notes on habitat, foodplant, rarity etc., this book has something for the enthusiast as well as those with a more general appreciation of the natural world.

As an introduction to the world of moths this book is very persuasive; the variety and splendour of our native species comes across vividly in the photographic pages, and the author's enthusiasm for the subject is clear. However, it is more than a book for the uninitiated, as the range of illustrated species includes many scarce and seldom illustrated species including a wide range of microlepidoptera -- let's face it, any book with photographs of micro-moths is a valuable reference.

This book started out as a list of moths seen on the Trigon Estate to give to the owners before we moved to Wales.
With the addition of photographs and text the project gradually took on a life of its own and turned into a book.
So many people wanted a copy that we have now published it, and hope that it will provide an introduction to this fascinating branch of the British fauna.
