My increasingly busy lifestyle led me to prepare good meals quickly and so my Lazy Cook range of recipes developed. 'Lazy Cook in the Kitchen' - is the second of 5 self-published books. When time is at a premium it is all too easy to grab an instant meal from the supermarket shelves or stop off at the local takeaway, but if you crave real food the satisfaction will be short lived. Furthermore, if you are becomingly increasingly concerned about what you eat, such convenience meals will be out of the question. Lazy cooking is based on traditional recipes adapted for the new century and especially designed to fit the busy lifestyle of today's time-pressured cook. It is about spending as little time as possible in the kitchen, whether preparing a light snack or a dinner party menu. Lazy cooking depends on having certain key ingredients at the ready and transforming them into a mouth-watering meal. It is about mixing and matching flavours, textures and colours, recognising which flavours will enhance a recipe and which might mar the principle ingredient. Lazy cooking is about not confusing the palate by presenting too many flavours at any one meal. It is about recognising that the most simple presentation is often the most eye-catching. Lazy cooking is healthy eating, using fresh ingredients in season and cutting down on oils and fats, sugar and salt. Lazy cooking recipes can be made by the least experienced cook, they will entice the least enthusiastic cook into the kitchen and the most talented cook will discover new recipes and flavours to add to their repertoire - enjoy!
