Although much development has taken place in recent years, the Weybridge area has retained many of the features which gives it its own distinctive character. We hope that the opening of this particular window on Weybridge will prove once again that the photographic image plays a vital part in helping to record aspects of the recent past. In order to cover what may be regarded as the current extent of the town, it was felt necessary to include the St George's Hill and Oatlands areas, parts of which anciently belonged to the adjoining parishes of Byfleet and Walton-on-Thames. The area covered by the track at Brooklands, has however, been excluded from this particular collection.
