Synopsis
My book tells the true story of a boy growing up in a large family in post war Hackney, London.
I reminisce about my life experiences, both as a child and a teenager, which were an education in themselves.
On leaving school I did a five year apprenticeship in engineering,, married and had children of my own.
I then joined Northamptonshire Police Force and among other things, became one of their Longest Serving Detectives.
I feel that my upbringing prepared me well for the many horrendous and varied cases that I refer to in my book.
The title relates to the sad loss of life at an early age of family, friends, complete strangers and victims of serious crime.
Despite all of these experiences I feel that I have had a great life thus far, and invite you to join me on the journey.
