Synopsis
This novel by the Cuban novelist, playwright and poet from New York is based on an historic anecdote from the Spanish American War. Through first-person narrative excerpts from a diary and via interviews, Torres recreates the suspenseful escape from a Spanish military jail of a genuine heroine of Cuba's nineteenth-century revolution.
