This book/disk package for musicians and programmers describes the features of MIDI and its support of real-time access to musical devices. Information is given on how to create screen displays, write low-level assembly language routines for MIDI and develop a patch library. It also introduces the principles of C programming and how they can be related to programming in a MIDI environment via a patch library and a simple sequencer application. The computer disk carrying all the programs in the book is formatted in MS/PC-DOS. It supports Microsoft C and Turbo C.
