Witness to History by Michael Walsh is an essential addition to the library of anyone with a serious interest in World War II history. It details many little known facts about pre-war Germany, such as the very real threat of a Communist takeover at that time, and Hitler's popularity and economic success, having divested Germany from the shackles of international finance. Also detailed are various Allied war atrocities, not least of which was the deliberate terror bombing of German civilians, which was started by the British. Some of the accounts do not make pleasant reading, such as the effects of the illegal use of phosphorous in the fire-bombing of Hamburg. This publication is an invaluable source of statistics and quotes relating to the WWII era. Magazine (large, A4) format, 60 fact-filled pages. Published in Britain by the Historical Review Press (updated ISBN 978-0-906879-26-9). This is a difficult to find publication and great value.
