Synopsis

John Hoyland has been at the forefront of British artists who absorbed the impact of abstract expressionism in the 1950s and progressed to a new and evolving voice. This exhibition catalogue documents Hoyland's early stain paintings from the 1960s to his free use of expressive colour in the 1990s. Also available is a limited edition hardback containing a print made by Hoyland exclusively for the publication, each signed and numbered by the artist.
