William Wordsworth was born in Cumbria in 1770. In 1795, having received a legacy that enabled him to devote himself to poetry, Wordsworth collaborated on the LYRICAL BALLADS with Coleridge and produced many of his finest poems. In 1799 he moved to Cumbria and continued to write poetry. He became Poet Laureate in 1843 and died in 1850.
