In the Beginning highlights the history of the world’s largest religious memorial to the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. Inspired essays on education, social justice, nonviolence, peace, ecumenism, and civil and human rights are offered in honor of Lawrence Edward Carter, Sr., founding dean of the Martin Luther King, Jr. International Chapel. This book is a lasting tribute and valuable contribution to the history and educational mission of Morehouse College.

About the Author
Echol Nix, Jr., is an alumnus of Morehouse College, USA (BA) with degrees from Vanderbilt University, USA (MDiv) and Boston University, USA (PhD, STM). He writes and teaches in the areas of religion and theology and is a past president of the North American Paul Tillich Society, an affiliate of the American Academy of Religion.

The inscription is to Dr. Robert Allan Hill, Dean of the Marsh Chapel of Boston University. The black cloth boards have white lettering on the spine. The corners are sharp and the spine ends stiff. The dust wrapper is clean and bright and without rips or tears. The only thing keeping this book from being Fine or As New is a slight bow to the boards. Inscribed by Author(s).
