Synopsis
This is a collection of photographs with accompanying text describing some of the haunted places in Britain and Ireland - ruined castles brooding on remote crags, the windswept shells of decaying mansions, the sadly gaunt remains of priories and abbeys. Simon Marsden has photographed castles, houses, archaeological sites and other buildings, and relates the history of each place and its ghosts alongside the photographs. Marsden's work is in many prestigious collections, such as the Victoria & Albert Museum, and the Getty Museum in California. His other books include "In Ruins" and "The Haunted Realm".

Synopsis
In 1981, Simon Marsden began visiting the remote, ancient houses and castles of Britain. In this second volume his photographs, taken by infra-red technique, are combined with his research into the hauntings of 60 locations. These stories from all over the British Isles have been selected for their variety as well as the photographic impact of the images. Simon Marsden is the author and photographer of "In Ruins", "The Haunted Realm" and "Visions of Poe".
