Book Description Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. Jacket by Tony Mullins, illustrations by Sophie Granval (illustrator). Reprint. First published in book form in November 1963, this is a reprint edition of 1982. SIGNED AND INSCRIBED BY ROBERT CARRIER, IN HEAVY BLACK PEN, ON HALF TITLE PAGE 'To Tony with every great wish, Robert'. Jacket sadly rather tatty, with edge wear and chipping to top and bottom of jacket and spine, corners rubbed and bruised with small loss, large scratch / tear mid spine affecting front jacket, flaps quite stretched, not price clipped (£12.95), no inscriptions, internally clean tight and square, overall an interesting and much used copy. 279pp, lavishly illustrated. In the early 1960s, Carrier began presenting a television series Carrier's Kitchen, based on the cooking cards from his Sunday Times articles. After the plain British fare of Fanny Cradock presented in black and white, Carrier in colour television format introduced luxurious Continental cooking to a nation used to watery vegetables and spam, in which ingredients such as garlic and spaghetti were treated with deep suspicion. Robert Carrier died in 2006 at his villa in France. Now a scarce classic. A very large heavy book, extra postage will be required. Signed by Author(s). Seller Inventory # 009813
