The work in four volumes presents a picture of linguistic development over some three millennia. It is a splendid reference source for the student of the Indo-Aryan language as a whole of an individual languages. The volume one is referred to Text and second to Indexes. The third volume contains a phonetic analysis of the head words. It has over 1500 sounds and sound groups. The volume four carries addenda and corrigenda to extend the scope of the Dictionary.
