Synopsis

A comprehensive, easy-to-use reference guide to performing procedures in the emergency, urgent, and primary care settings, this text-reference presents 69 of the most commonly performed procedures and organizes them into system-specific categories for easy access. Each procedure is presented using a concise and consistent format which includes: background including pertinent anatomy and physiology, indication for performing the procedure, how to perform the procedure safely and correctly, contraindications to performing the procedure, required documentation, complications, and special considerations. Original photos, line drawings, and tables will be used to highlight the written content and provide clear directions regarding exactly how to perform each procedure. Interdisciplinary reviews by twelve expert clinicians increase appeal and substantiate reliability across disciplines: APRN, Physician Assistant, and Medical Specialties.
