George Thomas Stevens (1832/3-1921) was a Doctor and Surgeon in the 77th Regiment New York Volunteers during the American Civil War. He served in the campaigns of the Army of the Potomac. After the war he returned to private medical practice, was a professor at the Albany Medical College, and became a renowned Ophthalmologist. His book about his war experiences, Three Years in the Sixth Corps (1866), is a concise narrative of events in the Army of the Potomac, from 1861 to the close of the rebellion, April, 1865.
