Since World War II there has been a rapid growth of interest in hermeneutics. This resurgent interest in the interpretation of Scripture is prominent in the various branches of Protestantism and is evident among Roman Catholic scholars as well as Greek Orthodox. Professor Mickelson points the way to biblically acceptable principles and procedures, and urges upon interpreters a greater awareness that interpretation must always take place in the love of God and in the Spirit of Christ, of whom the Scriptures are the supreme witness.
