This series edited by Glickman, a musician and composer, and Schleifer (music history, Temple U.) seeks to rectify the lack of scholarship on women composers from the ninth through twentieth centuries and aims to provide modern performance editions of their music, along with biographical and critical essays. Twelve volumes as a whole, this eighth volume consists of editions of instrumental music by 20 European and American composers from the nineteenth century. The essays are followed by a list of works and/or writings, a discography, a bibliography, and editorial comments. Music in this volume is by Louise Farrenc, Johanna Kinkel, Leopoldine Blahetka, Emilie Mayer, Elfrida Andreée, Agnes Zimmerman, Augusta Holmès, Luise Adolpha Le Beau, Rosalind F.
