From the Author

Kids have wise advice to share.
When I was a teenager, I remember feeling irritated that the media spent so much attention talking about what teens and kids do wrong—-and not nearly as much time focusing on what kids do right, their accomplishments and achievements. That feeling has stayed with me and has helped spark me to write books for kids which let young people share their accomplishments with other kids. In this book, Surviving Homework, I asked 300 top high school juniors and seniors around the country (teens who had clearly figured out how to win the nightly homework battle) to share their best homework tips with younger kids who might be looking for new ways to deal with ever-mounting mounds of homework. As I expected, the older teens had a lot of wise, practical, creative, and sometimes even quirky tips to share. They seemed very pleased that someone had finally asked them for their advice. I hope their tips, as presented in this book, can help other kids find ways to cope with homework hassles that might be getting them down. I wish I'd known some of their tips when I was in school!
