My passion
Of the ten books I have written, or am writing, this book is my passion. Why? Because I had breast cancer 11 years ago and have spoken to hundreds of women since with the same diagnosis, and I believe that we can do something about the heartache this disease brings. Education about what we can do to prevent this disease must get out there, and we must all realise that we are not powerless in the face of this, or many other, diseases. I know I am not alone in believing this as I have received much correspondence from people who have felt empowered by this book and able to make educated choices and speak to their doctors in a more informed way.
Suzannah Olivier is a qualified nutritionist and is herself a breast cancer survivor. She is a lecturer at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition and a committed campaigner for women with breast cancer. Her first book, on nutrition for babies, WHAT SHALL I FEED MY BABY? was published by Weidenfeld in Spring 1998. She lives in Norfolk.
