The evidence for the existence of the Mind as something distinct from the Brain – complete with new unpublished update chapter

‘Those who do not give time to the thought
attack the thinker.’ Paul Valery

Betty Shine’s new book centres on the Mind/Brain phenomenon and an argument that has dogged the scientific community for years. With a quarter of a century of experience of mediumship behind her, Betty Shine has the proof required to demonstrate the existence of Mind Energy as something which survives the physical death of the Brain.

Drawing on survival evidence through many interesting and intriguing stories, this book is the first attempt by anyone to distinguish between Mind and Brain. Betty Shine can not only see it – she can prove it. From out-of-body and near-death experience to clairvoyant contact and meditation, THE INFINITE MIND will inspire both individuals and the world of science to re-examine their beliefs.

Review:
In The Infinite Mind, Betty Shine, one of the most influential and indeed famous mediums of the 20th century, examines the Mind/Brain phenomenon--a theory she has discovered and developed over many years. A simple explanation of this is that she believes that the Mind functions as a separate entity to the brain itself and therefore can go on further and longer than the physical body.

By drawing on many intriguing and at times unnerving stories involving survival evidence and coma patients, Shine attempts to dispel some of the myths that surround death in the hope that her work will inspire individuals from all walks of life; she is particularly keen for scientists to readdress their beliefs as she attempts to unravel the meaning of life as well as death.

There can be little doubt that Shine has helped a huge number of people, many of whom have allowed their written testimonies to be used as evidence throughout The Infinite Mind. Some of the stories between these covers quite literally send a shiver down the spine and it is easy to see why so many people have such faith in Shine's abilities as a medium. There is a slight tinge of self-righteousness in her writing which grates more than a little, but in fairness, this does not prevent the book from being a provocative and captivating read. --Susan Harrison
