Eight and a half million viewers watched the Are You Being Served? on BBC 1 on Saturday nights when it was rescreened in Spring/Summer 1998, in the silver jubilee year of the series first transmission. Sky Gold is continually re-running episodes and in the US it is one of the most popular cable TV programmes on the West Coast. Are You Being Served? is not only a TV classic it is also a cult. About the Author
Richard Webber is one of Britain's the foremost show business journalists. He contributes regularly to a whole host of newspapers and magazines from The Independent to The Mirror, Hello to Radio Times, My Weekly Bella. He has written two previous books. David Croft's TV series include: Dad's Army, It Ain't Half Hot Mum, Hi-De-Hi, You Rang M'Lord and Oh Doctor Beeching. Jeremy Lloyd is an actor and writer. As a writer he created the best-selling Captain Beaky books and co-wrote Allo Allo with David Croft.
