Fun with Science: Sound is an excellent information book packed full of fun activities to carry out at home to investigate the topic of sound (parents may wish to purchase a pair of earplugs!).
After an explanation of what sound is and some sensible instructions about how to be a safe scientist, children can choose from 14 different sound experiments. All the experiments use equipment that will be on hand in most homes.
The equipment that is needed is clearly listed. Children will be able to easily follow the step-by-step instructions and photographs. Each experiment is related to a factual piece of information about sound.
This would be an excellent book for 5-8 year olds and would help to reinforce work carried out at school in science when children are learning about sound. Other titles in this series include Water, Electricity and Colour. --Amanda York
