About the Author:
Stella Lucia Volpe, PhD, RD, LDN, FACSM, is associate professor and the Miriam Stirl Term endowed chair of nutrition at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, Division of Biobehavioral and Health Sciences. She is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as an exercise specialist and is a registered dietitian. Her research in sport nutrition and obesity prevention spans more than 15 years. Sara Bernier Sabelawski, MEd, RD, LDN, is a lecturer, undergraduate program director, and director of the didactic program in dietetics at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She is a registered and licensed dietitian and has worked with many populations and various disease states, including pregnant women, people with diabetes, postmenopausal women, and people with eating disorders and weight management issues. Christopher R. Mohr, PhD, RD, has worked with competitive athletes as a sport nutritionist at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and is currently a nutrition consultant to the University of Louisville athletics program. He is a registered dietitian and a board-certified specialist in sport dietetics.
