About the Author

Lorin Cartwright is a member of the American National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA). She earned the NATA Distinguished Service Award in 1999 and is now a certified athletic administrator. William Pitney is an athletic training lecturer at Northern Illinois University. He has been a certified athletic trainer since 1988 and has professional experience at school, college and clinical levels.
