A fine first printing WITHOUT the usual tanning to the pages which are still white and clean, having a crease to page five, in glazed pictorial boards by Victor Ambrus with super sharp corners, having the merest tad of toning,being very gently pushed to spine tips. How this iconic book has survived in this gift condition I know not, given that most of this low print run original publication was for libraries. This superb copy is SIGNED by Michael Morpurgo to the title page, a most elusive signature indeed. Rare to find signed to the title page therefore NOT a laid in bookplate! Superb attributes.
