NEW BOOK and DJ (Old Stock) with new Mylar protection. // Mantegna was a master in about any medium of his day, but his Frescoes deserve special attention and admiration, and herein are his works in the Eremitani Church in present-day Padova (Padua), i.e., the Hermitage Church. And if there is ever a more just cause for the outlawing forever of war, this would be the case, as most of these frescoes were bombed to bits in 1944, but two of them had earlier been transferred to canvas. Providentially, only two days before this church was destroyed, they had completed photographing the frescoes, and what they then exposed to light, we now have in this book, which makes it not only beautiful and poignant, but priceless. Highly recommended. Seller Inventory # 100252
