The coal dust soon gets in your lungs in this gritty tale of the war-torn lives of the community of Pontypridd where the Home front has its full ration of heartache and despair, thankfully lightened by that famous wartime spirit. 4 stars -- Steve Craggs Northern Echo 1941. In Pontypridd, Ronnie Ronconi has returned home from war-torn Italy. The family are certain he will once again take charge of the family in his own forceful way, but Ronnie's escape from Italy has left him a much changed man.
