Synopsis
A handsome pair of diaries inspired by Wainwright. The illustrations in the desk diary for 2005 are ink drawings of landscapes in England, Scotland and Wales taken from Wainwright's sketchbooks. The pocket diary, small enough to stuff into a pocket or rucksack, has illustrations from his Pictorial Guides to the Lakeland Fells. Each diary has a picture for every week of the year and contains national and religious holidays and astronomical information. These new diaries, exclusive to Frances Lincoln, are a must for all lovers of Wainwright in particular or of the Great Outdoors in general.

About the Author
Born in Blackburn in 1907, Alfred Wainwright left school at the age of 13. A holiday at the age of 23 kindled a life long love affair with the Lake District. Following a move to Kendal in 1941 Wainwright devoted every spare minute of his days to researching and compiling the original seven Pictorial guides.
