About the Author:

Kim Chernin is the author of several acclaimed and bestselling works of non-fiction, including Womansize: The Tyranny of Slenderness (The Women's Press, 1986); a novel; a memoir; and a collection of poetry. She has studied music since the age of seven, when she first began to play the piano. Renate Stendhal has studied voice as a pupil of Max Reger in Germany and worked as a cultural correspondent in Paris. She is published author and has tranlated Gertrude Stein, Adrienne Rich, Audre Lorde and Susan Griffin into German.
