A ministry on the edge is a life-and-death proposition. Pre-Christians cannot be welcomed into the family of God unless an incarnational-cultural gospel is offered through images, symbols, and a language that communicates the call of Jesus.
A ministry on the edge is not abstract or cerebral. The edge is shaped as cells. The edge is sharpened by celebration. High-commitment volunteer leaders are called into a journey of high commitment, wellness, and purpose.
A ministry on the edge speaks the koine (or common) language of the people. Multi-sensory Worship (the CD-ROM) is not about broadcasting images and experiences toward the Christian television wasteland. Instead, a socially conscious ministry on the edge uses digital video-technology, projection equipment, desktop computing, and a relentless awareness of the felt need of pre-Christian seekers to bring about wellness and new purpose to hungry souls.
The CD-ROM is a worship team effort. Its content has been developed by Mike Lyons, Debra Welder, Kim Miller, and Jeff Friend, each extraordinary ministers of the Ginghamsburg staff.

About the Author:

Mike Slaughter is the Pastor Emeritus at Ginghamsburg Church. Under his leadership, Ginghamsburg Church has become known as an early innovator of small group ministry, the Church "media reformation," and cyber-ministry.
