About the Author:
Derek S. Hopson, PhD and Darlene Powell Hopson, PhD are practicing clinical psychologists. They have a monthly column in Young Sisters & Brothers magazine called "Listen Up" and are the authors of Different and Wonderful: Raising Black Children in a Race-Conscious Society, and Raising the Rainbow Generation: Teaching Your Children to Be Successful in a Multicultural Society. They live with their two children in Middlefield, Connecticut.
