Book Description Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Although the author of 22 works of fiction, half a dozen or so of non-fiction, and over a dozen children's books, Monica Dickens seems to be as well known for her unconventional life story, her humanitarian work, and for being the great-granddaughter of the even more famous Charles, as she is for her writing. Here we have a fairly late novel from her (she died in 1992). The title page is boldly inscribed and signed by the author: "For [me] - Thank you for giving me such a nice time. Monica Dickens". The book was signed for me at a literary luncheon in Chichester, England on July 8th, 1988. As so often happens with books from this era, the textblock is quite browned, otherwise the book would be very near fine in a near fine dust jacket, just slightly faded on spine panel. MC. Inscribed by Author(s). Seller Inventory # 001477
