About the Author
Kathy Sylva is Professor of Child Development and Primary Education at the London University Institute of Education.
Ingrid Lunt lectures in educational psychology at the London University Institute of Education and is Deputy Chairperson of the Department of Educational Psychology and Special Education Needs.

Thus it explores the ideas of such giants as Freud, Bowlby and Piaget, and the application of those ideas to children in the home, to adoption, fostering and childminding, to playgroups and nurseries, to learning and testing in school, and to some methods of therapy.
