'Romantic Ireland may be dead and gone, but a good deal of it is preserved in Beatrice Coogan's mammoth novel. As for drama, there's hardly time to draw breath from the tempestuous, storm-tossed opening pages' Irish Times.
About the Author:
Born in 1905, Beatrice Coogan began her journalism career at the age of seventeen and went on to write for the Evening Herald. She was also an actress with the Abbey Theatre and Radio Éireann.
