Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Revised. Paperback. As a young teenager the author was a victim of the devastating illness anorexia nervosa. It nearly claimed her life, but unlike many others Helena survived and went on to make a full recovery. This book is based on the diary which Helena kept to record her feelings and experiences as she struggled with the illness: a courageous personal testimony written between the ages of 18 and 19 at a time when anorexia was rarely discussed. Helena's piercing honest and moving account reaches out to other sufferers and their families, and provides valuable insight into this mysterious and tragic disease. Today, eating disorders are an increasingly acute problem, but this fully updated edition of Helena's story offers a power message of hope, showing that complete freedom is possible. 172 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions ,and all types of Academic Literature.).
