Synopsis
The O'Sauruses live happily on Thunder Mountain when a letter arrives from Megafright International. M.I. plans to tear down the O'Sauruses' bucolic home and put a theme park in its place, complete with robot monsters and a Tunnel of Terror. But Megafright has never dealt before with the mega-determined O'Sauruses. As robot construction workers remove the rocky debris of Thunder Mountain and replace it with plastic, the O'Sauruses are doing some re-construction of their own -- right under the robots' noses.

Review
As the O'Saurus family come to terms with the impending destruction of their beloved home, and the greedy Mr Flatbrain proceeds with his plans to flatten Thunder Mountain and replace it with an enormous plastic theme park, the locals swing into action to save the day.
Trouble at Thunder Mountain could so easily have been a mediocre tale of good triumphing over evil, but in the more than capable hands of the inaugural Children's Laureate, Quentin Blake and award-winning author Russell Hoban this deceptively simple tale--where the good guys win through and the bad guys can only stand by and watch--is taken one step further. Hoban, with his usual sharp perception firmly intact and well- tethered to his taste for irony, cleverly uses a family of cosy dinosaurs to contrast against the horror of the new. And as they begin to rebuild their home--with the aid of a bucket load of Monsta Glue and a little help from their friends--Blake gives his imagination free rein with the spiky simplicity of his trademark illustrations.

About the Author
Quentin Blake is one of the best-known children's illustrators of the present day. His works include not only his own picture books but collaborations with other authors, and How Tom Beat Captain Najork and his Hired Sportsmen (winner of the Whitbread Children's Book Award) was the first of a number of books by Russell Hoban for which he has provided the illustrations.
